How to book your corporate buffet
Booking a food catering buffet for a company event follows three clear steps, designed so an event organiser or executive assistant can move from first enquiry to a fully served event without chasing details.
- Brief: Send your event date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary notes over WhatsApp or the enquiry form. We ask about the occasion type — an internal town hall, a client reception, a product launch or an annual celebration — because that shapes the menu and service style we recommend.
- Tasting: Before you commit to anything, we arrange a free tasting so you and your stakeholders can approve the dishes, portioning and presentation. This is where menu adjustments happen, not on the event day itself.
- Delivery and service: On the agreed date, our own delivery, setup and serving team arrives at the venue with the buffet stations, service ware and staff needed to run the event from arrival through to clear-down.
Because we operate from our own kitchens in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD II) and run our own logistics, there is no third-party handover between cooking and delivery. The same organisation that plans your menu also drives it to Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah and sets it up on site.
For corporate bookings, we recommend starting the conversation at least a week ahead of the event date so there is time for the tasting and any menu refinement. For larger events or recurring company functions, earlier contact gives us more flexibility on scheduling our team and vehicles. If your organisation books catering regularly, we can also set up an ongoing service arrangement rather than treating each event as a one-off enquiry, which simplifies approvals on your side.
Throughout the process, you deal with one point of contact who understands your event brief, so instructions are not lost between a menu team and a delivery team. This matters most on the day itself, when timing and setup have to align exactly with your event schedule.
Buffet, plated, canapé and live-station options
A food catering buffet is the most common format for corporate events because it handles varied guest numbers and timings without requiring a fixed seated schedule, but it is not always the right fit, and we discuss the alternatives during your brief.
- Buffet: Best for internal events, training days, town halls and receptions where guests arrive and eat across a window rather than at a single seated time. It also suits mixed dietary requirements well, since guests can select their own portions from a wide spread.
- Plated service: Suited to smaller, more formal corporate dinners or board-level events where a seated, timed service with our own serving team adds a level of ceremony a buffet cannot.
- Canapé service: Works well for standing receptions, product launches or networking events where guests circulate rather than sit. Options such as smoked-salmon-blini, chicken-satay-skewer and tuna-tartare-cone are common choices for this format.
- Live stations: Add an interactive element to larger events — a shawarma-live-station, grill-live-station or pasta-live-station gives guests a visible, freshly prepared option alongside a standard buffet line, which works particularly well for all-day conferences or extended events.
Many corporate bookings combine formats: a buffet for the main meal with a canapé arrival reception, or a live station positioned alongside a standard buffet to add variety without expanding the full menu. We size the serving team to the format and guest count, since a live station or plated service needs more staff on site than a straightforward buffet line.
We discuss which format suits your event during the initial brief, based on your venue layout, guest numbers and whether the event is standing, seated or a mix of both across different segments of the day.
Timings, setup and clear-down on the event day
On the day of your event, our own delivery, setup and serving team manages the full sequence from arrival to clear-down, so your internal team can focus on running the event itself rather than the catering logistics.
Setup timing is agreed in advance based on your venue's access arrangements and event schedule. For a standard corporate lunch buffet, our team typically arrives with enough lead time to set up chafing dishes, cold displays and beverage stations before doors open to guests. For canapé or live-station formats, additional time is built in for equipment assembly and, where relevant, on-site cooking preparation.
During service, our serving staff maintain the buffet line — replenishing dishes, managing temperature control for hot and cold items, and keeping the presentation consistent throughout the guest window. This matters particularly for longer events such as all-day conferences, where a buffet may need to stay fresh and fully stocked across several hours rather than a single seating.
We coordinate directly with your venue or facilities contact on loading access, power requirements for live stations, and any restrictions specific to the site — details that differ between a hotel ballroom in Dubai, a corporate office floor in Abu Dhabi or an outdoor venue in Sharjah. Flagging these specifics during the brief stage avoids surprises on the day.
Once service concludes, our team clears the buffet, packs down equipment and removes catering waste from the venue, leaving the space as it was found. For multi-day events or recurring monthly supply arrangements, we agree a repeating schedule so setup and clear-down happen at the same times each session without needing to re-brief from scratch.
Hygiene is maintained throughout the day under our ISO 22000 and HACCP-held processes, covering food holding temperatures, handling and the condition of serving equipment from arrival to departure.
Why corporate organisers choose Dana Prime
Dana Prime has operated since 1998, and our kitchens in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD II) now cook more than 7,000 meals a day across a menu of 136 dishes and 16 courses. That scale means a corporate buffet booking for 50 guests or 500 is handled by the same kitchen infrastructure, without needing to source additional capacity for larger events.
We hold both ISO 22000 and HACCP certification, and food safety documentation is available on request for organisers who need to satisfy internal procurement or facilities requirements before approving a booking. Twenty-two client organisations currently use our catering on an ongoing basis, and we carry a 4.6-star Google rating, which we encourage prospective clients to check independently before booking.
Unlike arrangements that rely on subcontracted delivery, Dana Prime runs its own delivery, setup and serving team. The people who set up your buffet and serve your guests are the same organisation that cooked the food, which removes a layer of handover risk on event day and gives us direct accountability for timing, presentation and clear-down.
Every corporate booking begins with a free tasting, not after a booking is confirmed but before. This lets your organisation approve the actual dishes, portion sizes and presentation standard ahead of the event, rather than relying on photographs or a written menu description. For an executive assistant coordinating internal sign-off, this tasting session provides a concrete basis for stakeholder approval.
We serve Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the wider UAE from a single kitchen base, which keeps menu consistency the same regardless of which emirate your event is in. For organisations with recurring event calendars — quarterly town halls, annual functions or regular client events — we can also set up an ongoing service arrangement so each booking does not need to start from a blank brief.
References from current client organisations can be arranged on request, alongside our documentation, so your procurement team has what it needs before final approval.
