How short-notice booking works
When an event lands with little warning, the process still runs through three clear steps, compressed to fit the time you have. Speed does not mean skipping the checks that keep an event safe and on schedule.
- Brief: Send your head count, venue, date and any dietary needs over WhatsApp or the enquiry form. Our team reviews kitchen capacity, menu requirements, travel and venue access before confirming whether same-day or next-day service is available. An enquiry does not reserve capacity.
- Tasting or menu confirmation: Where time allows, we arrange a fast tasting so you can approve dishes before the event. For genuinely urgent bookings, we work from our standing menu of 136 dishes across 16 courses so a proven combination can be confirmed by phone or WhatsApp without delay, and we quote after the tasting or after menu confirmation.
- Delivery and setup: Our own delivery, setup and serving team, not a third party, loads from our kitchens in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD II) and arrives at your venue with enough margin to lay out, heat and present food before doors open. The same team can stay through service and handle clear-down.
Because we hold our own fleet and staff rather than subcontracting logistics, we can move a booking from enquiry to delivery within a single working day for many event sizes across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. Tell us your date and head count early in the message so we can check kitchen capacity immediately and confirm whether same day or next day service is possible for your specific event.
Buffet, plated, canapé and live-station options
The right service style for an urgent booking depends on your venue, head count and how much setup time is available before guests arrive, and we will recommend the fastest realistic option once we know your event details.
Buffet service is generally the quickest to arrange at short notice for larger groups, since it needs less precise timing than a seated plated meal and our team can lay out chafing dishes and platters efficiently once on site. It suits company town halls, training days and multi-course lunches where guests serve themselves across a spread that might include lentil shorba, a salad selection, a main such as beef stroganoff or chicken shish tawook, and a dessert table.
Plated service works for smaller, more formal corporate dinners where courses are served to seated guests in sequence. It takes more coordination between kitchen and floor team, so for genuinely last-minute bookings we will confirm whether the numbers and timeline allow it, or suggest a refined buffet as a faster alternative that still feels considered.
Canapé and reception-style service suits networking events, product launches or evening receptions where guests circulate rather than sit. Bite-sized options such as mini beef sliders, chicken satay skewers, tuna tartare cones and falafel bites with tahini can be passed by our serving team, finishing with a dessert canapé such as the raspberry macaron or dark chocolate truffle.
Live stations, including the pasta live station, grill live station or crepe & waffle station, add a visible, active element to an event and can be arranged quickly since our team brings the station equipment with them. For urgent bookings, live stations built around dishes already in daily kitchen rotation are the most reliable choice, since they need less advance sourcing than a fully bespoke station menu.
Timings, setup and clear-down on the day
On the day of a short-notice event, our delivery, setup and serving team works to a fixed sequence so that food, equipment and staff arrive with enough margin before your guests do, even when the booking was confirmed only hours or a day earlier.
Vehicles leave our kitchens in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD II) with food held at correct temperature throughout transit to your venue in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah or elsewhere in the UAE. On arrival, the team unloads, sets up chafing dishes, buffet tables, canapé stations or live-station equipment, and checks presentation before doors open, working to the venue access window confirmed in the proposal.
During service, our own serving staff manage the buffet or plated line, replenish dishes, and handle any live-station cooking, so your event team and executive assistant can focus on guests and agenda rather than food logistics. If your event runs longer than planned, the team stays for the agreed service window and adjusts replenishment accordingly.
Once service ends, clear-down is handled by the same team: chafing dishes, platters, linen and equipment are collected and removed, and the venue is left in the condition agreed with your venue contact. For office or hotel venues with strict turnaround times between bookings, tell us the clear-down deadline in your brief so it can be built into the day's schedule from the outset.
Because setup and clear-down are run by our own staff rather than a subcontracted crew, the brief should record the agreed delivery, setup and service timings, which matters most when a booking has been confirmed with little lead time and there is no room for a second attempt. Share your venue access window, expected guest arrival time and any handover deadline as early as possible so the day can be planned precisely around them.
Why Dana Prime for urgent bookings
Dana Prime has operated since 1998, and our kitchens in Abu Dhabi Industrial City (ICAD II) cook more than 7,000 meals daily for 22 client organisations across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the wider UAE. That standing volume and kitchen capacity are what make same day and next day catering realistic rather than a promise made without the means to keep it.
We hold our own delivery, setup and serving team rather than relying on outside logistics providers for an urgent booking. That means the people loading the vehicles, driving to your venue and serving your guests are the same team that handled thousands of meals that morning, working from kitchens that operate under ISO 22000 and HACCP certification every day, not only when an inspection is scheduled.
Our menu of 136 dishes across 16 courses exists precisely so that a short-notice brief can be matched against dishes already in daily production, rather than requiring a menu to be built from scratch under time pressure. This is the core reason we can move from enquiry to delivery quickly for many event sizes.
A free tasting before booking remains available whenever your timeline allows it, and we recommend taking it even for a fast turnaround if your date permits, so you can confirm flavour and presentation before committing. Where the booking is genuinely urgent, we work from standing menu combinations and confirm details by WhatsApp or phone instead.
Ask our team about references relevant to your proposed service. Contact us with your date, service time, headcount, venue and setup access window so our team can assess whether same-day or next-day service is feasible for your event.
